What Ifs #1: Multiverse Adventure

I realized that with most of my post ideas getting really long and life getting in the way like it usually does, I need smaller posts to interact with the community with so that I don’t end up with long hiatuses in between the big posts. As someone who reads lots of fanfiction, I know how much that can suck. So, I decided that one of the ways I’d do that is by introducing some geeky “what if” topic and then my answer, to spark the imagination as well as a discussion. Here’s the first:

You have been transported to the world of the last anime/cartoon you saw, but you have also been granted the powers/equipment/skills of the main (playable) character of the last game you played (if you play as your custom character then you can choose whether or not you want that body/form as well). Assuming you aren’t completely screwed, what do you plan to do using your new powers? Do you follow the main characters on their path or do you forge your own?

For me, I ended up with the powers of my Destiny 2 hunter in the world of My Hero Academia. So not the worst situation but it should be interesting to be a magic robot space soldier in a world of natural born superheroes. I’d probably try to become one of the school’s staff so I can at least try to aid the school and its students. Maybe sponsor an after school club that helps students develop their sense of style and how to best use one-liners and quips. Also I can easily imagine a situation where one of the students or teachers accidentally “kills” me and they just stand there freaking out until my ghost just revives me like nothing happened. Knowing his luck, It’d probably be poor cinnamon roll Izuku worried that he accidentally murdered someone with an out of control SMASH attack.

Game Idea 1: Pokémon Snap Expedition

Hey there. Welcome to my first game concept post. The basic idea is that every once in a while, I’ll come up with a dream idea for a game or mechanic and build it up so that we can get together and geek out over the possibilities. It makes for a good mental exercise and even if the official devs may never see and acknowledge the idea, it’s still fun. And who knows? Maybe one of you fellow aspiring creators can combine your ideas with my own and create something new from it.

So as the title suggests, the first idea up to bat is the ever elusive and much sought-after Pokémon Snap sequel.  Pokémon Snap: Expedition is, in it’s simplest form, the idea of an open world Pokémon Snap game where the objective is to explore and take photos of Pokémon and the antics they get up to. It’s a bit of an old idea I had once that I tried to clean up a bit but it’s still an interesting subject to imagine. Feel free to leave your own thoughts and ideas in the comments. Enjoy.
